APC have missed the boat – what next?

Dr. Sama Banya (Puawui): Sierra Leone Telegraph: 10 January 2020:

I have over the years come to admire and appreciate the integrity, fearlessness and sincerity of the lady called Lara Taylor-Pearce, the daughter-in-law of the Man of God who himself has remained as straight and upright in character as his physical stature.

Year after year, Lara Taylor-Pearce has produced her annual Auditor General’s report without bias and without fear or favour. From 2007 to 2018 of the APC administration, those reports were never discussed in Parliament, let alone in the public domain.

Dust-laden copies could be found on the shelves, and many times on the floors of the offices of Permanent Secretaries and heads of MDAs. But she has never lost hope, nor her faith and determination. She has just gone on doing what she was hired to do. And as the saying goes, looking neither left nor right – but mindful only of the task ahead.

For eleven years, the APC ran this country as though it was their private property; they ruled with impunity; they showed no respect or regard for laid down procedures or regulations. All they cared about was whether their actions suited the plans of their party to hold on to power come what may.

One of the things they treated with their usual contempt was the Auditor General’s annual reports, but that didn’t discourage nor humiliate Lara Taylor-Pierce (Photo). After they assumed power in 2007, one of their first functions was to look into the governance of the SLPP administration of former President Alhajie Ahmad Tejan-Kabbah.

SLPP Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and heads of Government agencies were instructed to stay in office until a formal investigation of their record had been done.

When the report was presented to the former President Koroma, he passed it on to the ACC. And as if he had gone through the documents, he joked that they were not going to spend a normal Christmas holiday because of the enormous task ahead of going through the report.

The impression was that they would be fully engaged in going through the unpleasant reading of the task force report. In the end it appeared that it had been much ado about nothing. The only significant result was the setting up of the Justice Samega Commission of Inquiry into the activities of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

There was no talk about “rules of engagement” on which the APC’s persons of interest and their Lawyers made much noise over the setting up of the current Commissions of Inquiry. Before the Samega report was out, there was the usual loose talk among their supporters of a ghost college and buildings which the ministry had claimed to have constructed.

Much to their dismay when the Commissioner arrived on the site, they were amazed to see huge structures which the APC without any apologies began to use as a special University with special privileges which supported only APC sponsored students and at great expense to the people of Sierra Leone.

Fast forward to 2018, in the Auditor General’s report covering the period 2015-2018 the Auditor General had identified serious financial discrepancies without mentioning the word ‘corruption’. She asked relevant questions and demanded that the records be put straight.

The APC were cock-a-hoop with excitement, assuming that the reports of missing billions of Leones were due to the SLPP administration of President Julius Maada Bio.

They didn’t stop for one moment to reflect that President Maada Bio was declared winner of the 2018 runoff election on April 3, or that it took the Task force more than a month to investigate the administration of the erstwhile government of President Ernest Bai Koroma; nor did it occur to them that it took almost another two months before the ministries and agencies became fully operational under the Bio administration.

The Awareness Times Newspaper and its publisher who are now the unofficial mouth-piece of the opposition APC, were almost shouting with glee that SLPP supporters were shaking in their pants because of the 2018 Auditor General’s report. They must have been hoping that the financial irregularities identified in the audit report were the doings of the new administration.

Because of those discrepancies, the ACC took an active interest and went through the pages of the report with a fine tooth comb. In the end, it turned out that nearly all of those discrepancies occurred before the Bio administration became fully functional.

The current Financial Secretary Sahr Jusu received special commendation for already identifying some of the irregularities AND TAKING STEPS TO PLUG THE LEAKAGES. The silence of the APC and their supporters can be cut with a blunt knife.

I will not go into the details of the report as outlined by the Commissioner of the ACC because as already stated they speak volumes.

The main problem and all the talk about a divided country emanate from the opposition’s refusal to admit that they are no longer in governance; or that from the rapid strides of the Bio administration, they are likely to be in opposition till 2028 and beyond.

That notwithstanding, they continue to spend much money, time and space especially on social media seeking every opportunity to criticise.

The Chief Minister by virtue of his position and influence is currently their target.  There was a diabolical attempt to involve him in an alleged incident that took place in Hamilton, even as the man was out of the country.

But as Siaka Stevens used to say “den faint late!”. That means that they have missed the boat; what they had hoped and prayed for, just did not happen. What next APC?

My advice is that you accept the status quo; accept that you have lost power and influence; concentrate on putting your house in order because as my friend and brother Alpha Khan said recently – “there are no more political strongholds”.

Parties are judged by whether they deliver to the so-called former APC strongholds which they had created by Yuki yuki,” and which is now hunting them in Falaba, Koinadugu and the Northwest.

  1. The candid words of the most incomparable men resemble those being displayed now,by the intelligent Young4na.They are like the awesome thundering of distant drums, that could be heard clearly even hundreds of miles away. I thank you sincerely for your kind thoughtful words brother. To tell you the truth,I am not agry at all – it just so happened that while all this fracas was going on,my little adorable, dearly beloved “Troublemaker” that doesn’t take no for an answer had me running helter skelter on errands, like a 7 year old school boy…like Maada Bio chasing imaginary investors, until I became totally worn out,and exhausted like a King Jimmy market street labourer(lol)

Yep,Saidu Conteh has been running errands brother, because it is said, that for men with good intentions, and decisive character,to be able to approach, and easily enter the gates of Holy matrimony, they must first become completely docile, subservient, and quiet as mice nibbling quietly on rice – words of my Wise Beloved Grandmother(lol)

Again,I thank you Sir, and the sharp-witted,politically savvy Mr Matturi for your gestures of goodwill towards me – I’m locked, stocked, fully loaded, with two smoking barrels, fired up,and ready to go all out against this notorious SLPP government now in power. Here comes Saidu Conteh again – Run SLPP Run.(lol) Rising Sun Will Rise Again.

  2. Mr David Bangura there, attacking Saidu Conteh and strangely, Mr Thomas just looks away; withdraws in silence, as if he didn’t see or hear anything(lol). Davis Bangura – if words make you run, then how can you manage to cope with with a group of hundreds that think, reason and act like Saidu Conteh?(lol).

Mr Thomas, its your prerogative, you can ban me if you want, so that it will be etched on my memory and on the pages of Sierra Leone history for the sake of transparency and future reference….Do as you wish Mr Editor. It is all in your hands.(lol) Rising Sun Will Rise Again.

    • Brother Conteh, the indomitable, the pride of the pack, and one of the highly intellectually gifted Sierra Leonean; please let bygone be bygone. It’s no secret many supporters of the PAOPA regime loathe you to the highest degree due to your relentless deserving criticism of the current regime in our nation. Nothing will make them much happier than to see an advocating voice like yours get muted. So please don’t allow them to have their way.

Let’s focus on the bigger picture sir. We have today in our nation a regime that does not respect the fundamentals of democracy. Opposition officials and dissenting citizens are constantly harass and locked up with no charges or justifications. As Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora, we have a golden opportunity provided to us by the great patriot professor Thomas, to express our diverse opinions without fear or hindrance, provided we abide by his stipulated policies.

I absolutely have no qualms with the laid down rules so long as they are fairly and squarely enforced across the board. I believe rules exist to protect us all. So let’s just play along sir. I have had a few of my comments deleted or paraphrased by the great patriot on several occasions but I generally choose not to protest because he is the leader as far this platform is concern.

So please sir, Mr. Conteh, let’s move on. Your contributions in this platform is invaluable. I believe you have hundreds of fans behind the scene who take pleasure and pride in reading your comments in this platform on a daily basis. I am sure you will not like to disappoint them. Sierra Leone belongs to all of us. We should never allow or tolerate any group or class of people thinking they are entitled to special treatment for God knows what.

    • Hi Mr. Saidu Conteh. How are you. I believe you are great. Are you upset with what happened last time or are you just busy and have not much time to debate/discuss the issues on this glorious platform with us? The later I guess. Man, just forget and return as soon as possible. As Young4na said, we need your ideas and participation on this glorious platform. Problems within us and the Editor can always and has always been resolved amicably well. Let’s just respect the rules and move on. Please return as soon as possible and start whacking the political hammer precisely on the issues affecting our beloved country with us. This glorious platform is a place for/of peace and not hate. God bless you Mr. Saidu Conteh.

  3. I respect your views Mr. David Bangura. But I disagree with you saying that Mr. Saidu Conteh will bring this great forum and news outlet down if he is not permanently banned. I believe that, the editor is using the right procedures to bring things under control.

What Mr. Saidu Conteh and all of us are forgetting is that, the editor has a lot of editing to do each time we post our comments. It is his responsibility to make sure that, whatever he allows to be posted is thoroughly checked and passed all the tests. It must also be responsible on our part as Forumites, to accept his advice because he knows the rules concerning forum regulations more than every one of us.

I was the first to be given the red flag this year on this platform. What a shame. It is not good when you get the red flag. I know it’s embarrassing. But, I accepted my fault and apologise to everyone. What else can I do. Nothing. Talking to myself.
So, Mr. David Bangura, let’s dial down the rhetoric and hope that, Mr. Saidu Conteh will reason with the editor and move on. Personally, I don’t want anyone to be banned from participating on this glorious platform. All agree? I hope so.

God bless Mr. David Bangura, Mr. Saidu Conteh, Dr. Banya, The Editor of The Sierra Leone Telegraph and all Forumites.

  4. It is time for all of us on this platform to take a deep breath and ask God to forgive us and help us put this Dr. Banya “die” issue behind us and more forward. We must all right now take our holy bibles and holy Korans to help us on this Dr. Banya issue. I believe that, Dr. Banya or any other former public official must be respected. Whatever their pros/cons, they deserve respect.

So, let’s read Psalm 46 verse 1 – 3. Our Muslim colleagues must do the same from verses in the Holy Koran. I know only of the Salat in the Holy Koran. God bless Dr. Banya and bring peace on this platform. The devil is trying to manipulate and install his wishes. But that will never happen in my view. God bless all Forumites.

  5. Honorable Abdul Thomas – my girlfriend,a far left liberal, and an ardent advocate for human rights, and all forms of free speech, and freedom of expression, whether in actions, or words, now wants to know why you are letting sentiments interfere with your ability to abide strictly to the ethical principles, and standards of the liberal media?(lol)

She now says, she believes that your sense of judgement, has somehow, strangely been compromised, and wants simply to know why you deleted those harmless, thought provoking, brutally honest lines of mine.(lol)

I’ve already told her countless times,Sir,to just forget about it,but she adamantly refuses to let it go,and wants sensible answers, from you. So,kindly do me us a favor Sir,as a gesture of goodwill, please explain to her why you deleted those lines she considers inoffensive,I wrote about Dr Banya.

Here’s her message to you. (Be made aware Sir,that I am being dictated to now under the barrel of a loaded gun…hahaha..just kidding.lol) Here we go “In today’s modern, ever evolving, progressive societies,Free speech in its most liberal forms, should be vigorously protected,at all costs, and needs not be curtailed, restrained,or stifled because it is seen as arousing emotions of anger, disgust, contempt,or disdain,by the status Quo,as long as it doesn’t promote, enhance, and facilitate strife, chaos, and anarchy, that could lead to extreme lawlessness, bodily injury, loss of property, and life. It is imperative,Mr Thomas that individuals like yourself, and many others in highly influential positions, as the Sierra Leone Telegraph be mindful of impending threats, being posed by frontiers, barriers, and muzzles, that could eventually undermine, the individual freedoms, and liberties of millions of people, rendering them totally, verbally, and mentally incapacitated. I ask you to do whatever you can to ensure that such a travesty in journalism doesn’t ever happen in our world. It thank you Mr Thomas,”Honorable” as my Saidu calls you, for your time, and attention – Chassidy”.

There you go Sir,my work is done – its now all in your hands. Rising Sun Will Rise Again.

    • Saidu Conteh will bring this great forum and news outlet down if he is not permanently banned. The cost of allowing Saidu Conteh to continue posting trash on this forum far outweighs the benefits. With freedom of speech comes responsibilities that must be honored. Unfortunately, this has not been with the case with Saidu Conteh.

  6. Young4na – Why waste your time answering to one track minded people? The truth remains unchanged, undiluted, and untainted,no matter what these Caterpillars dressed in green will say or try to do.(lol)The fact still remains very lucid, plain, and clear – Dr Banya is not a reliable, trustworthy man at all. He’s a miserable, attention seeking old man that still doesn’t understand that unwavering loyalty to ideas, principles, and people,is an admirable, and sacred attribute.

Sadly,he still believes in tribalism, indulging in childish, petty games in a futile attempt to find relevance in today’s ever progressing world. I beg to differ – In my opinion,he is the one that has squandered all opportunities offered to him to become a model, patriotic citizen of our beloved Sierra Leone. Without any doubt, he is the one that has allowed himself to clumsily “Miss The Boat” that got carried swiftly away,in the waves of Time.(lol) Rising Sun Will Rise Again.

    • Saidu, I will not allow you or anyone to personally insult any of the contributors or forumites of the Sierra Leone Telegraph. Dr Banya is not a public official. He is one of our writers. I will do the same should anyone try to publicly insult you using the Sierra Leone Telegraph.

I have warned you several times to refrain from insulting fellow forumites or contributors who are not public officials.

If you cannot abide by this simple rule then you can take your comments elsewhere. Thank you.

  7. A bit of nostalgia and some distractions. I remember Dr. Sama Banya who joined us at The Prince of Wales School from either Bo School or St. Edwards School as Prince Walean No. 1510 on 07/01/ 1952 – still a good and promising youth at 91 today. In order for us to progress, we need to accord honesty a higher priority than democracy. We continue to electorally and by appointments rotate known crooks into high offices who inevitably become sacred untouchable cows, whom civil and public servants including Police and Prosecutors dare not touch without exposing their well-beings to unacceptable risks, Similarly, home-based journalists dare not write about all the true causes of all our current national ills.

The onus therefore devolves on DIASPORANS to stand up and be counted. SLPP and APC politicians dread such developments hence their continuing suppressions. NO PROTECTED SACRED COWS and more even-handedness! My website is currently down for growths etc., should be up and running by 17/01/2020 – Seton During, London, UK.

  8. Fande Turner, your lengthy comments comprised of mainly paraphrases and repetition of what was already read and understood by many in this platform can be described as superfluous at the minimum and at best condescending. With all due respect, do you really think you alone can read and understand the english language?

Now in our everyday life, most intelligent people make use of their intuition to logically derive conclusion in a subject matter. So, instead of repeating what Mr. Banya has stated in the article, why not use your logical sense to look into his broader argument with historical context? Why narrow your scope Mr. Turner? Does your everyday life teaches you to only look at things as they appear or as presented to you? I am afraid not, because doing so will result to huge disappointments in life.

Yes, Dr. Banya is one of our elderly statesmen who has spent a good part of his life in the public sector, hence, no one can negate his inputs into many of the historical events. However, does being an elder statesman qualifies an individual to be a truth teller? Over the course of his writing hobby, Dr. Banya has always devoted a huge portion of his works in presenting one sided narratives geared to benefit his supreme political party SLPP.

Time without number, the arguments being presented by Dr. Banya have always been to paint the opponent party officials as the evil doers and the cause of all our national problems. Article after article, there is never any admission of responsibility either by him or his party in our current state of affairs affecting our nation. He has always pointed his fingers at the opposition Mr. Turner. I can present numerous articles posted in this medium where Dr. Banya has not been forthcoming with historical and current events affecting our motherland. So it’s against this backdrop that i naturally used my intuition in reaching at the logical conclusion that Dr. Banya believes all SLPP officials descend from heaven. Again, its all simple logic Mr. Turner.

  9. Joe Koroma —“ Unlike some of the immature and misinformed contributors on this forum, you have shown that politics does not have to be a life or death issue and that despite our political differences, we all belong to the same Salone family. Wishing death on someone no matter his age is reprehensible.”

Fellow forumites, are we witnessing a metamorphosis of Joe Koroma or just the usual flip-flop characterized by delusional, hypocritical regime supporters? Here we have Joe Koroma stating that all Sierra Leoneans are one family (couldn’t agree more); however, Why was Joe Koroma among the many regime supporters celebrating subconsciously when opposition supporters mainly in the APC were being terrorized in their party office with bombardment of teargas canisters and the women stripped naked?

Why was Joe Koroma among the many calling for EBK’s head to be cut-off without due process? Why was Joe Koroma among the many remaining silent when opposition supporters were being hunted in the South-East region of the country with many of their belongings destroyed in the aftermath of the 2018 elections? Why was Joe Koroma among the many celebrating the random arrest and locked up of opposition leaders after the Hamilton election fracas? I can go on and on listing the double standards that Joe Koroma has been displaying in this honorable platform, typical of his cohorts die-hard regime supporters.

The fact is, we all have to die sooner or later; and when we die, our maker will surely demand account of our deeds here on earth. So what crime have I committed for simply stating this fact? Is it that some of you are feeling guilty and seeing yourself being condemned when you die?

  10. Most people do not know that words are like tools in the hands of a skilled craftsman – True. There are words that aptly resemble screwdrivers and electric drills, and there are others that could be described as similar to bolt wrenches, chainsaws, sprayers and sledge hammers – all of them are adequate devices for correcting, destroying, pulling and tearing down delusions, stupidities and ignorance.

I have a hunch that the brilliant Young4na understands this very well – His comment about Dr Banya was right on the money…an obvious truth rightly said, displaying the perfect timing of an excellent craftsman. It is an electric chainsaw designed to hew down stubborn, unproductive OLD trees (lol). Bravo! If some feelings are going to get hurt, so be it, but the truth supersedes all other things – it cannot and should not ever be diluted or compromised….Rising Sun Will Rise Again.

  11. Santigie Koroma— “ Sierra Leone is now enjoying a goodwill in international affairs that it never smelled under your grossly incompetent APC. This is coming from a die-hard NGC man. The truth hurts.”

Hahahahah, here we go again with another delusional regime supporter playing tricks with himself pretending to be an NGC. Thanks to the great patriot professor Thomas for creating this platform, I am really having fun dealing with some of these clowns. Lol. Santigie Koroma, may I ask you sir which planet you happen to be residing? If you happen to just have landed from your alien planet, Sierra Leone is facing the worst economic conditions in recent memory.

Contrary to what you have been misled by your foreign agents, our nation is currently under an intense hardship coupled with a toxic political climate. International investors have for the most part avoided the country due to the current regime policies. So please wake up from your slumber my friend. Note, since it appears you have just landed from an alternate universe, please be aware that, this platform is intolerant to the propagating of fake news and conspiracy theories peddling. So please get your facts straight next time prior to commenting.

  12. Forumites, let’s don’t argue about Dr. Banya dying soon or not. Dr. Banya has fulfilled all the conditions for long life in my view. He will surely live long in Jesus’ name. Amen and Amen. Long life is a promise that comes with lots of conditions. In Psalm 34:12-14, the conditions include: “keeping tongue from evil, lips from speaking lies, departing from evil, doing good, seeking and pursuing peace”.

Dr. Banya, don’t worry. You are just fine. You have fulfilled all the promises for long life. God bless Dr. Banya and may God grant and favour him long life. The Lord said in Psalm 91 verse 16 “with long life will I satisfy him and shew him my salvation”.

    • Thanks a million Sahr Matturi. Unlike some of the immature and misinformed contributors on this forum, you have shown that politics does not have to be a life or death issue and that despite our political differences, we all belong to the same Salone family. Wishing death on someone no matter his age is reprehensible.

  13. S. J Koroma; are you ok my brother? I have observed you stating multiples times claiming that you are not a Sierra Leonean, and that you have only started following Salone politics in the past 12months. If that is the case, how can a novice like you parade in this noble platform ostensively fabricating things you clearly have no knowledge about since you claimed to be a foreigner? This is a clear manifestation of the phrase “ wonders will never cease”.

I mean how can someone who claimed to be a foreigner go around making ill-advise comments about a country or culture of people he knows nothing about? You are undoubtedly making yourself look bad Mr. Koroma; my recommendation for you is that, you either come out of the closet (pretending to be something else you are not) or cease making comments that clearly exposes your ignorance of our politics and culture. Lonta!!

  14. Dr. Banya at it again, spinning the narratives to favor his religion (SLPP) rather than look out for mama Salone in general. I sometimes subconsciously think to myself, what exactly do some of these die-hard party supporters think of Sierra Leoneans? I guess in their delusional minds, they take everyone as a fool.

Yes Dr Banya, SLPP never involved in corrupt practices during pa Kabbah’s tenure, not a single cent was stolen sir, leaders of the SLPP are all angels that descended from heavens — innocent and never does anything wrong. SLPP is a model party across the entire globe, the party that does everything as expected, in fact, they have always performed above expectations. So please stop making yourself look bad sir. At your age, you should have focused on righting some of the wrongs done to mama Salone, not justifying and in some cases making up things to suit your party. Soon your maker will call you sir, the time for repentance is now.

    • Yes Mr. Young4na. It seems like the older they get the more affirming the loyalty that they have for the groups that they belong to become. All we see is the political dichotomy of pointing fingers at each other’s party that the country is plagued with – a narrative that goes, If it’s not APC’s fault, then it’s SLPP’s, and if it’s not SLPP, then it’s has to be APC.

In the article, Dr. Banya asserts that APC needs to accept the status quo, in that the APC needs to accept that they’re no longer in power, hence the APC should cease from creating friction for the present governing party (SLPP) because of it. But the irony with that assertion is that the status quo is actually the two parties – APC and SLPP – always pointing fingers at each other and playing the blame game for the reason why the country has refused to move forward. This narrative perpetuates, but there is not enough time spent on creating a space in which the people of Sierra Leone are given a chance to thrive in. The people are simply left in scarcity to fetch for dog bones to suck on.

    • The last sentence of this comment is not really nice. Do you have to pray for someone to die soon, just because he is sayimg some Truths? Please Mr. Thomas do not allow such comments in the future. Please consider the amount of contributions the Writer has made in the past years to contribute to this Paper. He does not deserve this at his age; and not only that, Dr. Banya has diligently served this Country (both as APC and SLPP). He is one of the very few Sierra Leoneans who always say the truth. Plesse consider my suggestion.

      • Thank you Mr Koroma for your kind suggestion. As someone who has published for several years for my dear uncle Dr Banya, he would be deeply disappointed if I should resort to censoring the opinions or curtailing the free speech of forumites. Worse have been said of the erudite Doctor, and he has survived. Lol. I am sorry you find Young4na’s comment offensive, and even more certain that the Good Lord has not heard his prayer. Lol. Have a good weekend!

    • Young4na – Nobody is saying that the SLPP is full of angels. But when it comes to governance and class, the SLPP is a vast improvement over the dumb and thuggish APC. Sierra Leone is now enjoying a goodwill in international affairs that it never smelled under your grossly incompetent APC. This is coming from a die-hard NGC man. The truth hurts.

    • Mohamed D Koroma of The Champion Newspaper who was also Deputy Minister of Information under president Koroma, and Olu Gordon publisher of PEEP Magazine said similar things about Dr. Banya. They preceeded him. Becareful about what you wish for another of Jehovah’s creation.

    • Yes Dr Banya, SLPP never involved in corrupt practices during pa Kabbah’s tenure, not a single cent was stolen sir, leaders of the SLPP are all angels that descended from heavens — innocent and never did anything wrong. SLPP is a model party across the entire globe, the party that does everything as expected. In fact, they have always performed above expectations.

So please stop making yourself look bad sir. At your age, you should have focused on righting some of the wrongs done to mama Salone, not justifying and in some cases making up things to suit your party. Soon your maker will call you sir, the time for repentance is now.”-Young4na

I am not an admirer of Dr. Banya. However, I have not heard or read the above from him. I have not heard him say that the members of the SLPP are saints and are not corrupt. It is something imagined by Young4na. If he says that, why as chairman of the party in the early 2000s the likes of Momoh Pujeh, Harry will, Lamina Feika, etc were indicted and found guilty of corruption?

The article here by Dr. Banya is well articulated for our young ones who have a passion for writing. Four topics were discussed. He wrote about the Task force set up to look into malfeasance of former SLPP Ministers when President Koroma took power. How the findings of the Task Force was submitted to the new ACC boss then with the president insinuating that the ACC would have a heavy Christmas holiday.

Dr. Banya wrote that like many issues the APC led ACC did not find anything or did not do service to the nation as their finding was never made public or implemented.

Next, Dr. Banya wrote about the Commission of Inquiry set up by the APC with a Gambian Judge Samenga as sole judge. The COI was to probe the SABABU project under the SLPP. He said that after the Prosecutors had alleged that a white elephant school was built at Hill Station, the Judge to his astonishment during his fact findings did find a well-constructed compound that was converted to a college by the same government that had alleged that the project was a ghost project. Nothing came out of the commission.

Further Dr. Banya wrote about the series of Audit reports that were never looked into by the APC from 2007-2017 nor were their recommendations actioned. He praised the Auditor General for not relenting to do her work despite the cold shoulders that the government treated her reports.

To crown it, Dr. Banya wrote about the 2018 Audit report which many including unfortunately our Editor here had said was the responsibility of the incumbent government to own up to its findings.

The ACC was instructed to look into it and it has been revealed that the erstwhile government and its functionaries were in fact much in control even after the new president was sworn in on 12 May 2018 and the issues highlighted about some of the financial improprieties in the Audit reports predate the ascension of the current president.

Finally, Dr. Banya said that the Chief Minister has become the target of the critics of the government. Even when the man is not in the country, mishaps are attributed to him including the recent skirmishes at Hamilton village.

I was expecting counter arguments for those who think that the old Dr. Banya is not telling the truth. Unfortunately what the likes of Young4na are trying to do is to attack the messenger and not the message thus bloating any room for a reasonable debate on the issues raise by the old Doctor.

At 91 not many would write or remember things or event as coherently as Dr. Banya does. Loathe him or like him, this is an admirable feat.
